The theatre play "Frida, a bomb wrapped in a silk ribbon" on May 18 in Liguria, Italy

17 May 2024

As part of the cultural event "Su il sipario" in Santo Stefano di Magra (SP), Saturday 18 May sees the performance of "a bomb wrapped in a silk ribbon" by Laura Murari, directed by Andrea Castelletti (produced in 2022 by Produzioni Teatrali Orti Erranti and Modus, Verona).

The great Mexican painter, an example of female strength and an icon of emancipation, will be told through the theatrical transposition of some of her most evocative works.

The play is a monologue that goes beyond the monologue dimension and becomes a pictorial work on stage, thanks to the sets created by Luca Altamura and Paola Muccio, costumes by Laura Consolini and make-up by Anna Penazzo, inspired by Kahlo's paintings. All wrapped up in the Mexican music of the time, the result of the musical consultancy of Pablo Sartori and performed live on stage by Antonio Canteri and Claudio Manzini.
