Arrived in Italian bookshops on 2 November, for edizioni La meridiana, 'Frida Kahlo pittrice coraggiosa' by Teresa Righetti, is the first story on Frida's life and works written in the symbols of Augmentative Alternative Communication. One more tool to make art and culture accessible also to people with cognitive disabilities or language difficulties.
In addition to recounting her biography, 'Frida Kahlo the Courageous Painter' explains and collects the best-known Frida's works, as well as the artistic techniques she used in her paintings. The book also suggests to readers various workshop activities that can be carried out in the classroom or in other educational contexts to bring people with cognitive disabilities, but all people in general, closer to art.
