"VIVA LA VIDA, Frida Kahlo and Chavela Vargas" on stage in Rome on September 2nd

As part of the programming cycle "Performances live in the municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Roma Capitale," the show VIVA LA VIDA, Frida Kahlo and Chavela Vargas, with Francesca Bianco and Eleonora Tosto, on guitar Matteo Bottini, directed by Carlo Emilio Lerici, will be staged on Sept. 2, at 9 p.m., in Piazza Santa Vittoria in Anticoli Corrado (Rome).
The show opens with Frida Kahlo's voice describing the love of her life, the painter Diego Rivera. A very rare recording, perhaps the only existing audio recording of the artist, which the Fonoteca Nacional del Mexico recovered and digitized in January 2019 and decided to make public this past June. The words are fragments of "Retrato de Diego," a text Frida Kahlo wrote in 1949 for her husband. The audio dates from 1953-54.
