San Antonio Frida Fest celebrates its 10th anniversary on August 15-16

14 August 2026

Since 2016, FRIDA Fest has become much more than a festival; it's a movement.  San Antonio keeps honoring the "F.R.I.D.A." spirit—recognizing women who are Fabulous, Respectful, Independent, Determined, and Assured.  This 10th-anniversary celebration is inspired by the lasting influence of icons like Frida Kahlo, Selena Quintanilla, and Gloria Anzaldúa, and it honors the artists and craftsmen who help keep our heritage alive and strong.

Guinness World Record Attempt: Frida Look-A-Like Contest:

Festival visitors are also being asked to take part in an official try for the world record for the biggest group of people dressed as Frida Kahlo. To be counted in the record, participants need to follow four official clothing rules:

- A dress with a floral pattern that goes down below the knees on every side.
- A red or pink shawl
- At least three artificial flowers in the hair.
- A joined unibrow on the face

 Cultural events

The mall will become a cultural center with a large, handmade Artisan Mercado that will include more than 60 local businesses and art galleries. Live performances, a carefully selected art exhibition, and a community fashion showcase.

The community is also invited to join the Community Altar by sharing photos of their loved ones who have passed away and the strong women who have made a big impact on their lives.
