The lyrics and atmosphere are inspired by the life and works of Frida and the poetry of Pablo Neruda.
‘¡Viva la Vida!’ is a musical show, a journey through the Latin music of Central and South America. A melting pot of Mexican, Cuban and Argentine influences, with timeless sounds that tell the fascinating and dramatic story of the encounter between three worlds: Africa, Europe and America.
In the background are the words and visions of Frida Kahlo and Pablo Neruda, two of the most extraordinary and universal artistic spirits to have lived in these lands.

“Yo te cielo, así mis alas se extíenden enormes para amarte sin medida”
“I am yours, sky, so that my wings may spread boundlessly to love you without limits”
(from an excerpt from a letter Frida Kahlo wrote to the Mexican poet Carlos Pellicer)

The musical reading takes its inspiration from the book “¡VIVA LA VIDA!” by Pino Cacucci (published by Feltrinelli, 2014), featuring original arrangements, sung and performed live by:
• Alfredo De Giovanni: Narrator, guitar
• Floriana Ferrante: Vocals
• Domenico Lopez: Lead guitar
• Ilaria Stoppini: Transverse flute
• Giovanni Chiapparino: Percussion and accordion
• Alessio Campanozzi: Double bass
