24 June 2026
Organized by Nacha Mendez Scholarship, the Frida Festival brings together musicians, artists, educators, photographers, filmmakers, and cultural organizations across Santa Fe.
Cristina Kahlo, a Mexican photographer and relative of artist Frida Kahlo, lectures by Professor Carlos Rovelo, performances by the Nacha Mendez Trio, a Frida Kahlo mini-film festival, photography exhibits, lowrider displays, culinary events, scholarship awards, and the return of the Traveling Frida Bed installation are all part of the 2nd edition of the Frida Fest.
Frida Fest blends public programming related to Frida Kahlo's cultural legacy with visual art, music, performances, and scholarship fundraising. Live performances throughout Santa Fe, educational talks, public installations, film screenings, and local and visiting artists are all part of the festival.
The Traveling Frida Bed, a mobile installation inspired by Frida Kahlo's famous bed and intimate images, is one of the festival's main attractions. The installation acts as a visual focal point and a means of raising money for the scholarship program as it moves between festival locations over the course of the weekend.
