Frida Kahlo "rivisited" in the show by Fulber at Palazzo del Bene, Rovereto (TN), Italy

16 April 2026

From 12 to 30 April, Fulber’s works come to life  ‘Between Futurist Dynamism and Pop Reality’, viewed through the digital lens of a smartphone. They move, they rumble, offering a sensory experience.

"Futurist painters such as Marinetti, Depero, Balla, Carrà and Severini," explains the artist Fulber (Fulvio Bernardini is his real name), "depicted the concepts of simultaneity and speed in their canvases."
Today, their stylistic exploration under the banner of dynamism finds its fulfilment in augmented reality.

"As visionaries, the Futurists imagined a world of sounds and movements through art. Advances in the digital age now make it possible to bring that artistic exploration to fruition."

Hence the term "Rivisitismo", a neologism coined by Fulber in 2012 to describe an artistic project that "pays homage to the great masters of 20th-century painting through an ironic and light-hearted reinterpretation, infused with pop art and poised to become even more immersive thanks to the use of new technologies’".
Many styles are explored: Cubism, Surrealism, Expressionism, and then again Art Brut, Graffiti, and Naïve art.
The exhibition comprises six large-format pop art works, printed and mounted on wooden frames. These are the ‘art multiples’ from the exhibitions at the Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan and the Museo Internazionale Italia Arte in Turin, which are based on the original oil paintings exhibited between 2012 and 2022 in major European cities.

There is a colourful tribute to the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, an Elvis Presley portrayed in a Cubist style, ‘Miss Dora’ based on Picasso’s portrait of the photographer Dora Maar, ‘Jeanne’, which draws on Amedeo Modigliani’s Jeanne Hébuterne, and a curious ‘Room with a View’, which echoes Van Gogh’s famous room in Arles, and ‘Made in Italy’, a work inspired by Italian brands and Marinetti’s Futurism. These are accompanied by four ‘Minipop’ works, small unframed square paintings. Here too there are reinterpretations of Picasso, ‘Fashion and Relax’ featuring the graphic styles of Roy Lichtenstein, the raw art of Jean-Michel Basquiat and the surrealist universe of Salvador Dalí’s clocks and ties.

It takes just a glance to be captivated by the freshness and boldness of Pop Art. The highlight of the visit, however, is ‘kinetic art’. Amplifying the liveliness of the brushstrokes is the Bellfish virtual animation system, which allows visitors to ‘step inside the painting’. By downloading the app of the same name and scanning the canvases, you can immerse yourself in Fulber’s creative process, discovering the behind-the-scenes details, the techniques used and the artist’s motivations.
