"Frida Kahlo" among the Latin Creations by Roxey Ballet, celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season
24 March 2026
Latin Creations is an evening of 3 new & original works by Mark Roxey and Giovanni Ravelo honoring Latino-Hispanic and Afro-Caribbean culture, taking place at New Hope, PA - US, on May 1st.
With newfound vigor and vision, Latin Creations is back. A memorable evening of artistic expression and cultural discovery is created when dancers and choreographers take the stage to share their individual viewpoints and life experiences.
The program, which is led by visionary Artistic Director Mark Roxey, includes pieces by both him and Giovanni Ravelo, artists whose voices and movement styles give this celebration of heritage and identity depth and authenticity. It will include the world premiere of Roxey's most recent creation, Jibaro, a vibrant piece influenced by Puerto Rico's culture, customs, and spirit.
These are the three powerful pieces of the evening:
Frida Kahlo - Inspired by the life of the renowned Mexican artist
Mary Luz - Based on the works of the Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni
Jibaro - Exploring the traditions and cultural roots of Puerto Rico
