12 February 2026
After a $3.5 million renovation that improved its environmental and security systems and modernized its infrastructure, the El Paso Museum of Art is scheduled to reopen on Valentine's Day.
During the reopening, "Frida Kahlo–Sus Fotos," an internationally acclaimed exhibition that features 241 photographs from Kahlo's personal archive, will be presented for the first time in El Paso.
Photographers featured in the exhibition include her father Guillermo Kahlo, as well as Man Ray, Martin Munkácsi, Edward Weston, Brassaï, Tina Modotti, Pierre Verger and Lola & Manuel Álvarez Bravo.
The museum's permanent galleries, which include the well-known Kress Collection, are back, along with additional new exhibitions like "Desert Rinpa" by Mitsumasa Overstreet, "Suzi Davidoff: Wander," and "RAZI Projects."
