02 January 2026
The exhibition entitled "Frida Kahlo, Art and Rights. A European Dialogue" will be open to visitors at Scala Coeli, (Cosenza, Italy) until 5 January 2026, at the headquarters of the Misericordia. The project, organised by Pasquale Tridico (Member of the European Parlament) and curated by Amedeo Fusco (actor, director and art communicator), aims to create a dialogue between Frida Kahlo's artistic and symbolic legacy and contemporary issues related to rights, identity, freedom of expression and the role of art as a social tool and example of resilience.
Through works by contemporary artists from different backgrounds and languages, the exhibition offers a plural and contemporary interpretation of Frida, understood not only as an artist but as a universal icon of resistance, self-determination and civil consciousness.
The exhibition project arrives at Scala Coeli after a prestigious and varied journey: fifteen stops in major Italian cities including Rome, Milan, Florence, Trieste, Ragusa, and Cosenza, and a significant international stop in Mexico City, hosted by the Italian National Institute of Culture, organised in collaboration with the Frida Kahlo House Museum. This itinerary confirms the curatorial quality of the initiative and its ability to engage with different audiences in national and international contexts.
The artists involved come from all over Italy and different parts of the world and are: Maria Romeo, Carmelo Carrubba, Adele Castro, Arturo Barbante, Turi Alescio, Rosario Bello, Carmelinda Alacqua, Reyna Zapata, Sergio Cimbali, Mauro Benvenuto, Dania Minotti, Emanuele La Monica, Silvana Licitra, Piera Narducci, Roberto Trucco, Vincenza Trovato, Salvatore Denaro, Gianfranco Brusegan, Adriana Stella, Pamela Siciliano, Annalisa Cavallo, Sara Manzoni, Lucio Morando, Maria Scollo, Salvatore Gerbino, Valentina Dezio, Carla Boi, Beatrice Nicosia, Rosetta Giombarresi, Ivo D'Orazio, Maria Rosa Beghelli, Pasquale Vulcano, Maria Pia Mucci, Fabrizio Paoli, Enrico Guerrini, Francesca Barnini, Alejandrina Calderoni, Samuela Giaconi, A.F.A.
