Leo Matiz' photographs of Frida will be shown in Urugay, at Focus Festival 2026

From 6 to 11 Jan 2026 the charming Uruguayan town of José Ignacio will be transformed into a dynamic outdoor gallery where photography will take center stage in both public and private areas.
Two powerful and historically significant exhibitions—a black-and-white series by Brazilian artist Gaspar Gasparian and a show by Colombian photographer Leo Matiz honoring Frida Kahlo—will be on display at the traditional Galería de las Misiones during the official opening.
This festival invites all attendees to explore the power of photography in unexpected and unique spaces with a program that embraces diverse perspectives and geographies.
FOLA and Arte x Arte are the producers of Focus Festival, which is open to the public and entirely free. The festival is led by FOCUS Director Gastón Deleau and Artistic Director Nicolas Janowski, who are both dedicated to presenting photography in all of its expressive potential.
