Art classes and cultural events at Museo Frida Kahlo throughout October 2025
17 October 2025
The iconic Museo Frida Kahlo, also called La Casa Azul, in Coyoacán, Mexico City, is hosting an extensive range of art classes and cultural events throughout October 2025 that are intended to fully immerse guests in the spirit of Kahlo's legacy. The museum's seasonal programming, which combines creativity, history, and individual expression, includes these workshops in the run-up to Día de los Muertos.
- "Self-Portrait and Identity" workshop: participants examine how Frida used self-portraiture to convey identity and emotion while producing their own mixed-media portraits that draw inspiration from her technique.
- "Alebrijes and Imagination": using Kahlo's surrealist influences and Mexican folk art, participants in this interactive workshop create and paint fantastical creatures.
- "Textile Narratives": in agreement with Kahlo's passion for indigenous clothing and symbolism, the workshop focuses on traditional embroidery and fabric collage, inviting participants to use textile art to share personal tales.
- "Noche Azul" Sessions: live music, guided tours, and mini-workshops under the stars are all part of these extended hours, which are held on Thursday evenings (October 2, 9, and 16).
