"Frida Kahlo, My Reality" at the Alpilium, Saint Rémy, Provence, France next 16 Oct
04 August 2025
"Frida Kahlo, Ma Réalité" is a one-woman show written and interpreted by Bénédicte Allard. A vivid self-portrait of a woman with a visceral need to create. An impertinent and scandalous diary.
Rather than merely retracing the well-known facts of Frida's life, it revives her true essence beyond the commercialized figure familiar to the masses.
Who was Frida Kahlo, really? How did she experience her art, her passions, and her homeland?
This exhibition chooses not the detached lens of objectivity, but the deeply personal and emotional perspective of a Frida who reveals herself through the canvas of her existence. Her world is raw and vibrant—filled with flesh, blood, madness, desire, laughter, pain, nostalgia, and love. Within a framework of optimism and deep affection for life and humanity, Frida embodies a life force that never fades: Viva la vida.
