Next 6th July is Frida's birth anniversary: The Casa Azul is celebrating with "July, Frida Month"
03 July 2025
The Frida Kahlo Museum will be celebrating this month with "July, Frida Month". A celebration that honours the life, art and legacy of one of Mexico's most iconic figures. This 2025 marks three key dates: the 118th anniversary of Frida's birth, the 71st anniversary of her death and the 67th anniversary since the Casa Azul opened its doors as a museum. For this reason, throughout July there will be more than 20 cultural activities including talks, workshops, cinema, music and many ways to connect with the creative and personal universe of the artist.
6th of July - Frida's birth anniversary
Presentation of the ballet "Dos Fridas", by the Ballet San Jerénimo under the direction of Jesus Velasco, a choreography inspired by the artist's famous painting that explores her emotional and symbolic duality.
There will also be a workshop entitled ‘Who is the mirror’, designed for children and families, where they will be able to create their own self-portrait. In addition, visitors will be able to have their photo taken in a commemorative photobooth set in the style of Frida's visual universe.
12th of July - Frida's death anniversary
Projection of the movie "Frida, Naturaleza Viva" by Paul Leduc.
