Kim Hi-ra received a lot of applause from the audience at the premiere of the musical "Frida Viva la Vida" on the 18th June at NOL Uniflex Hall 1 in Seoul. Her unparalleled acting and explosive singing abilities depicted the fiery life of artist "Frida Kahlo" in a beautiful way.
Even though "Frida Kahlo" lived in suffering for the entirety of his life following an accident, the show depicts his last life in a framed form, demonstrating how he managed to preserve his joy of life by transforming it into art. Through the message "VIVA LA VIDA!" she left behind, it conveys the message of passion and healing for life found in pain. It also captures the final moments of Frida Kahlo, a passionate artist who proudly faced the darkness in an original form.
Kim Hi-ra, who went back to the stage two years after the previous season, used her deeper acting abilities to portray Frida's story—where passion and pain meet—in three dimensions. When Kim Hi-ra appeared on stage in the guise of an interview show, her sophisticated diction, firm voice, and focus dominated the entire play. Throughout the 110-minute plays, the audience was given a range of acting styles that depicted Frida's curved life story, including her joys, sorrows, and emotions.
After the first performance, Kim Hi-ra said, "It's an honor to be able to be back on stage as a person I respect in two years." "I also received a lot of power and courage while acting on Frida's life, so I wanted to return that courage to the audience this time."
