National Premiere of a Music and Songs show inspired by diverse Cultures, celebrating "LOVE and REVOLUTION" — themes very dear to Frida Kahlo.
Music played a significant role in her life: first and foremost, the traditional music of Mexico, with mariachi bands and partner dances, village festivals, and songs under the moonlight. But also American jazz, which she deeply loved, and French and European songs she heard during her few trips abroad. It wasn’t mere entertainment—for Frida, music was passion, the vibration of the soul resonating with her land and with the colors of her painting.
Frida is a symbol, for all women, of how suffering and pain—which never left her throughout her life—can be embraced and transformed into Art, Color, and Poetry.
An icon of Art, but also of contemporary pop culture, she is celebrated for her deep self-awareness and profound understanding of the female soul. She represents the reclaiming of oneself, of one’s scars and pain, and the elevation of these elements into Art.
The female body and the taboos surrounding it become central themes in her artistic work—a powerful message for women of her time and of today.
Actor/voice actor LUCA VIOLINI, composer/guitarist GIOVANNI SENECA, singer/percussionist ANISSA GOUIZI.
