19 February 2025

Ines Radovic, a young artist from Cetinje's Faculty of Fine Arts (FLU), heard the echo of Frida Kahlo's life and art that had a powerful impact on her, and she decided to presented it in her own unique style.
In the Peruvian Biennial competition, which received 22.256 applications in a variety of categories, her poster, "70 years since the death of Frida Kahlo," was chosen. The exhibition, which featured 560 pieces, opened in December 2024 at the XNUMX in Lima, the country's capital, at the Peruvian Aviation Museum.

The poster was made as a regular assignment for the Graphic Communications II course during the previous academic year at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Assoc. Prof. Adela Zejnilović acted as the student mentor.

"70 Years Since the Death of Frida Kahlo" seems perpetual and blends a variety of representations, including Frida Kahlo's traditional painting and contemporary art, "Broken Column" and universal symbols, a Mexican woman's artwork, and the young student's own conceptual and visual creativity. Now, people on the other side of the globe can witness this for themselves.

Radović discusses Frida Kahlo, graphic design, and his experiences with it in an interview with the Montenegrin daily newspaper "Vijesti", as you can read following the link below.
