The Orti Erranti Theatre show by and with Laura Murari, directed by Andrea Castelletti, will take place on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 November at 9 p.m.
The show reveals the life of Frida Kahlo through her emotions and the transposition into narrative of some of her most significant works, with live music by Antonio Canteri and Claudio Manzini.
Laura Murari's text is complemented by live music that accompanies the story of a woman, in the form of a transposition into narrative of some of Frida Kahlo's most evocative paintings, full of emotion, thought, suffering and life in strong colours.
The performance intends to emphasise that Frida was a limpid example of the strength of women, an icon of emancipation and affirmation.
The monologue is intended to be not just a portrait, but the cross-section of an artistic and feminine revolution to reveal ‘the disruptive force that overcame all physical and spiritual pain with her subversive, inexhaustible and explosive love of life’.
It is the result of a careful study of the various writings and research on Frida Kahlo and comes to life from a careful analysis of the emotions and thoughts embedded in her works, all rendered in the form of a theatrical tale.
