Popular Indian designer Rashi Kapoor showed her collection inspired by Frida at Lakme Fashion Week

"Espíritu Libre" collection, shwon at Lakme Fashion Week on 13 Oct 2024, honors life and embodies Frida's tenacity and lively personality.
“My collection is called Espíritu Libre which stands for free spirit and was inspired by Frida Kahlo. She stands for boldness, vibrancy and is extremely positive and that’s what inspired me to take her as my muse. My collection is all about individuality, feminism and independence,” said Rashi Kapoor.
The collection, which has a striking color scheme of reds, pinks, and golds, includes velvet, crushed chiffon, and opulent silks for a refined appearance. Kahlo's essence is captured in the rich tapestry of motifs created by intricate embroidery, crystal detailing, and 3D effects, which give the collection an air of luxury and dreamlike grace.
In keeping with the inspiration of the painter's varied personality, her collection featured a handcrafted aesthetic with an abundance of colors, fabrics, styles, and shapes.
