As part of the Istanbul Culture Route Festival, the "Diaries of Frida Kahlo" exhibition will make its debut in Türkiye on September 28 at the Grand Pera building, which is historic. Being the first in the world exclusively devoted to her diaries, this exhibition is really exclusive and important to note.
Under the direction of Cengiz Ayyıldız and Koray Özdemir, with co-curators Ayşe Demirci and Dilay Duman, the exhibition offers an immersive exploration of Kahlo's inner world and artistic journey through a combination of physical and digital elements. Visitors can expect a unique experience as they interact directly with her ideas, feelings, and inspirations.
The exhibition's significance was emphasized by Ayyıldız, who described it as a "fijital" experience that integrates advanced technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to enable interactive engagement.
Özdemir highlighted the significance of Kahlo as a legendary person who turned her struggles into artistic expression, which is why this project is especially captivating. The exhibition aims to offer a fresh interpretation of Kahlo using her diaries through a licensing agreement with Frida Corporation.
Art enthusiasts should not miss this must-see exhibition, which runs through October 26 and travels to Antalya from November 2 to November 30.
