"Frida" by Carla Gutierrez at Entre Des Mundos, Ibero-American Film Festival in Florence, Italy
20 September 2024
Gutierrez will present the Italian premiere of ‘Frida’ and take us on an intimate, raw and magical journey through the life, mind and heart of the iconic artist.
For the first time, Frida's life is told through her own words, taken from her famous diary, letters, essays and interviews. This story is made alive by a lyrical animation inspired by the unforgettable art of Frida Kahlo. The film marks Carla Gutiérrez's debut as a director. The author seeks to highlight the reasons why the artist - and her art - remain as powerful as ever.
Guests of the Festival include Eréndira Nunez Larios, Mexican producer of successful films such as ‘Sundown’ with Tim Roth and Charlotte Gainsbourg and ‘Memory’ with Jessica Chastain, who will present David Zonana's ‘Heroico’.
