"Love and Revolution" tribute concert to Frida Kahlo in Bologna, Italy on 28/08/2024
29 August 2024
The classical beating guitar of Neapolitan musician Giovanni Seneca for the persuasive, rounded voice on percussion of the Italian-Argentinean Anissa Gouizi to celebrate "Love and Revolution" in the songs that accompanied Frida Kahlo's Mexican story: folk songs and mariachi country ballads. Village festivals and couple dances inhabit Kahlo's work and the entire Mediterranean tradition of the duo, mixing sounds and litanies from Greece, Turkey and Balkan music. In her few European and American travels, Frida loved French song and American jazz, which she listened to while giving colour to her painting.
