San Bartolomeo in Galdo (Alessandria) is known as the town of Murals. Since 2010, a local committee has organised a summer event in which many artistic works adorn different parts of the town. In 1976, the most famous of these murals was created, on the occasion of the visit of the IntiIllimani - the renowned music ensemble from Chile - on tour between Matese and Sannio.
After several years of stop, ArciSbig (Italian cultural recreational association , Music and Culture space since 1997 ) decided to return with the Murals activity.
Women's empowerment was chosen as the theme and a poll was taken to see which female character would be most suitable for the mural.
The motivation expressed:
"Frida seemed the best choice to us, so colourful, powerful and free".
