The award ceremony for the ‘Artist in History’ Prize, organised by the Fondazione Arte, was held last June at the prestigious Teatro Italia in Rome. The event represented an important occasion to celebrate contemporary artistic talent and honour the work of emerging and established artists who are leaving an indelible mark on the Italian and international cultural scene. The day was enhanced by the presence of José Van Roy Dali, son of the legendary Salvador Dali, who had the honour of reviewing the works of the selected artists. The participation of José Van Roy Dali gave the event an additional dimension of prestige and authority.
The award-winning artists, chosen for their exceptional ability to innovate and communicate through art, presented works ranging from painting to sculpture, photography to digital art. Each creation was carefully examined and evaluated by a committee of experts, culminating in a selection of works representing the best of contemporary creativity.
Among the selected works is ‘Frida’ by Martha Lian Suarez, an Andrian by adoption, chosen by Dr. Maria Di Pasquale, a member of the expert selection committee for Fondazione Effetto Arte. Maria Di Pasquale said: "Martha Lian Suarez's work transports the audience to the beautiful colours of Mexico. Martha's genius in representing an icon like Frida Kahlo in a completely unique way is amazing. Through a masterful use of colour and refined technique, Suarez manages to capture the essence of Mexican culture, paying homage to one of the most emblematic figures of contemporary art. His ability to innovate and reinterpret such an iconic subject testifies to his extraordinary talent and unique artistic vision."
The Fondazione Arte, promoter of the event, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and enhancing talented artists, providing them with a platform to express their genius and contribute to the cultural richness of our time. The President of the Foundation, Sandro Serradifalco, said: "We are proud to have hosted a figure of the calibre of José Van Roy Dali and to be able to offer emerging artists the opportunity to engage with such an authoritative critic. Our aim is to continue to promote art in all its forms, encouraging creativity and innovation."
