The Korean musical "Frida: The Last Night Show" will debut at USC in the United States

24 July 2024

As part of Uthe University of Southern California (USC) renowned arts and humanities initiative, Visions and Voices, the show will make its American premiere on September 6 at the Bing Theatre at USC in Los Angeles.

Produced by the EMK Musical Company in Korea, "Frida: The Last Night Show" examines Frida Kahlo's artistic triumphs and challenges as it reflects on the last days of her life in a talk show style.

The all-female ensemble, led by Sophie So-hyang Kim as Frida, brings the story to life. In addition to Park Sun-young as Destino, who stands in for death, and Park Si-in as Memoria, who represents Frida Kahlo's younger self and her existence in a parallel universe, Jun Su-mi plays Refleja, the talk show hostess who takes on characteristics of Frida's husband Diego Rivera.
