"FRIDA KAHLO" Immersive Experience at Bassins des Lumières, Bordeaux, France
07 February 2026 | 28 February 2026Presented as a brief program that goes with the immersive Matisse "The Symphony of Colors", "FRIDA KAHLO. At the Very Heart" provides a lively and reflective contrast to the French master's chromatic conversation.
Each picture appears to dance in time with Frida's heartbeat as identity, suffering, and passion blend together in a sensory experience.
The Bassins des Lumières' walls are changed by monumental projections to depict the rhythm of Frida's life, from her early paintings, which were characterized by physical pain and self-discovery, to her more assertive paintings, which exploded with the strength of her identity and dedication. The evolution of an artist who turned suffering into art, weakness into strength, and the personal into the universal is reflected in the vivid depictions of plants, organic materials, and anatomy.
