"Frida: Beyond the Myth" at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, US
05 April 2025 | 28 September 2025This exhibition goes deeply into Frida's imagery to uncover the particular life events that influenced her creativity and the formation of her identity. It consists of sixty works of art in various media.
Many of the most significant self-portraits, still lifes, and portraits by the artist from the start of her career in 1926 until her death in 1954 are on display in "Frida: Beyond the Myth". A variety of images of Kahlo taken by photographers, many of whom were close friends of the artist, such as Nickolas Muray, Lola Álvarez Bravo, Imogen Cunningham, Julien Levy, and Dora Maar, are also on display.
This unique exhibition of paintings, drawings, prints, and photos provides a unique chance to look into Frida Kahlo's work, whose power, sensitivity, and sensuality still captivate us.
